It needs to work from an AC adapter, but batteries (or rechargeable) would be great so it can go out into the garden too. Thanks holy_moly |

We have a Pure Digital (brand) "One Classic" (model) in our kitchen. Cost was around £50, but they have probably come down since we bought it. Works on batteries and AC adapter and you can get a rechargeable powerpack for them so the AC adapter constantly charges it up for non-mains use, but the pack is an option and I seem to recall they were quite pricey (£30, or so?).
It sounds and looks great - not a crackle to be heard with Radio 4! Simon

One tip I have is to look for a reconditioned one rather than buying new. I picked up a reconditioned Pure classic via an Amazon retailer for just £10. There is absolutely nothing to show that it's anything other than brand new, it even came in a pristine looking original box. It works perfectly and saved us £30!
